Having never been to Cornwall, we jumped at the opportunity to spend a long weekend in Newquay this month.
We spent quite a lot of time at Watergate Bay beach - it's a lovely beach, with a wide expanse of sand, which the grandkids loved. As we were travelling with a dog, we checked beforehand and were happy to discover that Watergate Bay beach is dog-friendly year-round.

When we managed to drag the family off the beach, we took some lovely walks around Newquay and the surrounding area.
We absolutely loved our weekend in Cornwall and can't wait to return. Newquay is a lovely town to wander around, with lots of interesting shops and restaurants. There are lots of beautiful beaches and the scenery is magnificent.
